How do you get songs off of your ipod onto a new laptop?

Okay, the deal is my old laptop died, and when I mean died, there is no way to even turn it on or retrieve any information that was stored on it.. and I was stupid and never backed up my music in my itunes. WELL, I got a new laptop and I want to still be able to add new songs to my ipod, but since I have none of the songs on my ipod backed up I do not know how I can transfer those songs I have on my ipod now, onto my new laptop..

sorry if that is confusing.. I just do not want to have to resort to the "reset my ipod" option.. I really did not have that many songs on there, only about 600 but I mean, that is still a whole lot of songs to have to re-download..
