How do you get sponsorship to play golf for real?

i play golf very well im looking to break into the field to play with the top dogs to better my family and life and give back to my community

It depends on what you mean by sponsors.  I know of several prominent amateur players that had private investors clammoring to sponsor them because they felt they would earn big returns.  But if you are talking about top equipment manufacturers paying you to wear their logo you need success on the Tour.  You say you play golf "very well", you need to win some major national events to draw attention to yourself.  USGA amateur events, or Division I NCAA.

You are not going to get any sponsors until you make it onto a tour (PGA, Nationwide).  Are you a member of the PGA yet (just the PGA, not the PGA Tour like Tiger)?  Have you looked into Q-school?

You are going to have to qualify for one of the tours if ever expect to be a sponsored golfer.  Titleist, Nike, they only sponsor golfers who are going to give their product a good amount of exposure.

You dont have to be on a tour to get sponsored, but you do have to work in the golf industry in some capacity, and the club companies have to know that their products are going to get some exposure if you are using them.  Lots of Club Pros are sponsored by a certain manufacturer.  If members notice that the Club Pro is playing a certain type of irons, they might be more inclined to buy that brand.  Also, once you get sponsored, you are expected to try to promote the brand over the other ones that the pro may have in stock (most pros are responsible for running the golf shop on site.)  My old Pro where I used to work was sponsored by Cleveland.  Even though he liked his Mizuno irons better, he was forced to promote, sell, and play with Cleveland in all of the tournaments he participated in.

Boy oh boy some nice responses, if you think your good enough ask Family, Friends and business associates and come up with a good business plan with goals, expenses, schedules basically what your going to be doing for the next year.
