  1. Is the boat gel coated ? if yes, you could try "goof off"

  2. in order to keep from scuffing the fiberglass too much try light wet sanding at first, if that doesnt work use a very light san paper and try dy sanding very lightly.... go slow and take your time... should come off okay

  3. Carb cleaner works great just dont leave it on to long.

  4. Vanisol

  5. You can try a little acetone on it and see if it'll break down. Acetone doesn't hurt white gelcoat, so use a white cloth towel and a little acetone and give it a shot. Then, you'll want to immediately follow up with Meguiar's Cleaner Wax and finish with some Polymer Sealant. If it's on colored gelcoat OR white gelcoat, try wetsanding with 400 grit wet-dry and then buffing it out with Meguiar's Heavy-Cut Cleaner and finishing with Meguiar's Polymer Sealant. Just be gentle with sanding so you don't break through the first layer of gelcoat. Gelcoat, when finished, has an exterior similar to clearcoat on a car. If you break through that layer, that spot will be the first spot on the boat to dull and fade. Good Luck!

  6. for over spray, its very simple.  you do not have to use any type of harsh chemical or paint thinners/removers...especially if you have a colored hull (one drop on colored gelcoat and you are in for an expensive fix)

Just take some scratch remover (yep the type for cars) and it will remove the over spray....then wax the area and your done.  I've had to do this with black spray on my white deck from touching up the wipers...You always want to avoid using harsh chemicals on gelcoats if possible.

  7. wet down with denatured alcohol,, then wet sand.never heard of acetone NOT hurting WHITE gel-coat,,ive built yachts for years and paint them,,we use acetone to BREAK DOWN  ALL colors of gel,, but then again we aint the sharpest tools in the tool box

  8. if the spray paint is epoxy base then you can sometimes wet sand with a 2000 grit sand paper and then Buff it with a Polishing compound, you could try using Lacquer thinner first but be car full DO NOT use it on a painted surface.
