  1. Start by learning vaults. Vault over railings, benches, tables, anything to further your experience. Parkour is about efficiency so practice being smooth and intricate.

Look up parkour videos online, find a trick you haven't done before and try that one.

I have a parkour/free running video (plus other stuff),

Check it out and if you see something you don't know how to do, try it out!! http://www.youtube.com

P.S. - The flips and trampoline stuff are not parkour

  2. First under stand that freerunning is NOT parkour!

Freerunning =  back flips, spins, anything that is not movement efficient

parkour= Getting from point A to B fastest. usually does not involve flips or spins of any nature.

So whichever you decide to do, you have to be fit. AT least be able to run a mile in 10 min. If you can do more faster, even better.  Lots of triceps training, because you will be pulling yourself up, so be able to do 12-15 pull ups with palms facing away.  so basically be fit.

Next, Take it easy and practice alot! Look up: Vault, Monkey vault, one handed vault (lazy man vault), King Kong, Dash Vault on youtube. Understand the difference and technique. One you

master the vaults and can do them easily move on to practicing other essentials.

ROLLS, are EXTREMELY important! Especially if you are jumping down from high places. You have to look on youtube for tutorials.

Lastly have fun, and if you are uneasy about something, trust that feeling! heres some other moves fyi:

Underbars (reverse under bars [if you can find any vids])

    Precision jumps/walk

    Catleaps

Check out my sampler, I've been doing it for about one year so I'm still intermediate. this is realistically what you'll be doing.

  3. hi,

everyone has the wrong idea for parkour and free running. free running ,parkour, art de deplacement and yamakasi are all the same thing. the media got mixed up when there were making documentaries people think that free running is back-flips wall spins and all that but it isn't that's "free styling" traceurs do it for fun. no it isn't parkour but who cares it isn't parkour but its fun free running is the English translation for parkour

    its the medias fault!!!!!!!!!!!

    anyway

learn yourself for the first 6 months doing vaults precisions under-bars gaps cat leaps cat balances pull-UPS sit-ups muscle ups you name it!!

when u are ready explore your area for new places bars and walls .

watch videos on the Internet. you learn from falling so fink positive

then maybe start finking about joining a team/club

    good luck

    team carca parkour
