How do you get stuck on hairspray gunk off of a curling iron?

make sure its off and then clean it with a wet paper towel/a little soap

I used to clean it when I was done using it (while still hot) but rubbing a wet wash cloth over the barrel. This usually loosens it because of the steam the iron and water create. Once it cools off, you can usually break off the rest of the gunk with your finger nail. Not the most convenient way, but it works!

get a degreeser.// like 409.. kaboom... what ever ist the curling iron and let it sit for like 10 mins... then go back and spreay it again.. and use a scrubby sponge or a dry wash cloth and it should come off.. if it starts too when u use a washcloth but isnt done repeat process..

Unplug it and clean with rubbing alcohol

take a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol to clean it.  It may take some rubbing and you may have to heat the iron up, but it is the only thing that will cut through the dried on hairspray

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser after you unplug it, of course.

An SOS pad works fantastic. I have cleaned them many times with it.
