I accidentally slipped in some tar and got it in my jeans. Aparently, you aren't supossed to get them wet after you get tar in them, but i didnt know that, and i got them wet. Is there any hope left for my jeans?? they were mymost favoritest, lol.

  1. Wait till your pants completely dry out, then rub in goop hand cleaner (the gell, found in the automotive sections).  Use a lot, then let them sit overnight before washing by themselves.  Afterwards you will most likely have to run 1-3 empty cycles in your washer to get the residual oils & black color off the tub else you will blemish your future washes.

Goop is the best thing, ever.

  2. I've had really good luck with a product called Oops!  You can find it stores like Wal-Mart.

  3. There used to be a product on the market called Thoro that would have taken it right out. Unfortunately it is no longer sold.

I would try Fels Napatha soap on it. It is a bar laundry soap made by Dial. It is usually found in the laundry aisle or on the Internet. Simply get the bar of soap wet and work it into the fabric and see if you can get it out with that. You might have to wait 9 minutes for it to help.

If not, then I would try maybe a little Gasoline I know will clean tar off of your car so you could try that, just be careful because it is very flammable. Make sure you launder the jeans after.

If those don't get it out, then I would randomly try different stain removers like Zout, or Oxy Clean.
