How do you get the DVDR to record from the TV?

you can get dvd recorders that hook up via coax my magnavox  dvd recorder has both coax in and out

Line out from the TV to line in to the DVDR, then hit record.

hook the cable into it unless your using a cable box you have to run rca jacks from the cable box to the dvdr

I have one and I can't get it to work either.  I don't have cable, just an antenna, and another VHS/DVD deck.  I think you have to bypass the TV and direct the DVDR directly to the DVD player to record DVD to DVD.  Is that you real question?
