I am wanting to get bigger fish for my aquarium (angels, catfish) and wondering how you will actually get them out of the tank if necessary. I have a small net for my smaller fish but was just wondering?

  1. Get a bigger net. Bigger fish = Bigger net.

  2. No offense, but it's obvious:

Bigger Fish + You Only Have A Small Net = GET A BIGGER NET!!

  3. i think you should purchase a net that is big enough to catch most of the fish in it

  4. bigger net.

  5. At risk of sounding smart alecky, larger nets.  :)  You can buy those in large varieties of sizes.

Here's what you do - when you go to catch the fish, use TWO nets.  One of the nets should be huge - about half the total width of your tank - and the other one much smaller, but not too small for your intended catch.  Try to position your big net behind the fish, and put the smaller net in front; if you time it right, the fish will immediately turn from the smaller net and swim straight into the big net.  Quickly move the big net up toward the surface with the fish inside it, and then scoop it out with the smaller net (it's easier to drop it into a container out of the smaller net rather than the big net).   And always be careful with angelfish, they're pretty delicate.

    Hope that helps.  :)
