How do you get the body of a sprinter?

I really admire the physique of sprinters. I was wondering how do you get that skinny muscular look. Do these guys do any weights? If so what types and which exercises. Thanks in advance ;).

  1. Sprinters don't just sprint every day and end up with a sprinters body. They also work out with weights to tone upper body and lower body muscles, plus they work on their core muscles a lot.  

    With weight training you use a lower weight and do more reps which tones muscles rather than bulks them out (you will see that sprinters tend to be lithe and toned rather than beefed up).

    The key is to mix it up a little, do mainly running / sprinting, but also do other types of cardio-vascular such as hill walking, swimming and sports which involve 'explosive' moves such as volleyball or tennis etc.  

    It is also important to do a lot of stretching so the muscles are long and lean rather than short and tense.

    ...and remember to eat plenty of veg, fruit and salad and have rest days in between all of this working out!
