How do you get the boss key in Dragon Roof Cavern dungeon in Zelda the WindWaker for Gamecube?

I am in Dragon Roof Cavern in Zelda the Windwaker. I have saved the little girl and gotten to the door to the bosses room. But I don't have the key! Where do I get the key and how do I get to it?
