Question:

How do you get the cake top to be moist and sweet??

You know, like muffin tops are always moist and sticky and yummy...

I don't think its a glaze you add on top. I think its supposed to just come out of the oven like that, but all my muffins and cakes come out of the oven with plain dry tops.

I want it to be like muffin tops!!!!

Any ideas? :)

  1. Muffins are always filled with lots of butter and grease and oil

    Thats why there moist

But their nice so i see why you want them that way!

I can only suggest checking recipe books with pictures of the end result so you know what your getting

  2. Use Canola oil instead of Veg oil.  It will be more dense.  If you don't want your cakes to have huge dome tops which also dries it out bake for longer at a lower temp.  Like 300 or 250 and check for doness with toothpick

  3. Add 1/2 a cup of butter or margarine to the recipe.  Or if you want to keep it lower in fat, add a cup of applesauce or mashed pumpkin.  That will make your cake or muffins more moist and dense, including the tops.
