How do you get the custom content to work in the Sims 2?

Question

I've seen lots of people with custom hair on their sims or clothes. I want to try and make custom hair but the custom button isn't available to me when I play the Sims 2. How do I get it to work?

well you can download the custom contents from other websites.try this tutorial.please read it until finish.most people are just too impatient when it comes to step by step guides.

if you want to make your own custom contents,you need sims 2 Bodyshop to export the files and editing software like Adobe Photoshop.

There are two types of packages for custom content on the sims

SIMS2PACK and package.

SIMS2PACK must be double clicked to install while you just leave the PACKAGE files. To have package files on the sims 2 you must install a sims CEP from this link

You go to sites like modthesims2.com, or thesimsresource.com. Once your there, you can download the content you want. For The Sims Resource, there's a download as package button and a normal download one. For Mod the Sims 2, download the file, and when you unzip it, go to My Documents>EA Games>Sims 2>Downloads (if you don't have a Downloads folder, make one. Make sure custom content is enabled, then enjoy your content!

Go to meshing or recolouring (meshing is way harder and requires, skill, knowledge, a 3D program and adobe photoshop)
