After a race it's caked in mud, so i wash it off but it's still pretty dirty.

Power-washer? Don't have one yet

  1. Spray a degreaser or simple green on the engine, let it sit for 10 minutes, pressure wash it.  Be careful not to force water in where it doesn't belong (like the transmission vent, exhaust, sprocket seal, sidecover, etc).  Then you can more easily figure out where it leaks oil so you can fix it and it won't get so dirty again.

  2. PB Blaster

hose the mud off, let it dry. spray a can of PB Blaster all over the engine, let it soak for 15 mins then hose it again, and the engine will look like brand new

  3. don't use a power washer unless you like to rebuild your bearing a lot, or just don't care if they move like they should.

DON'T use simple green, it will corrode the aluminum, look it up

get a hose, some mild detergent soap (liquid dish soap or windex works pretty good or furniture polish) a big soft brush and a tooth brush or similar and go to work.
