How do you get the second remote for Wii activiated on carnivial games?

I was playing Carnival Games for Wii, and my friend wanted to play along but we all had to play on one remote and i didn't like that very much cuase the games i wanted to beat her at... i couldn't... lol! It says to go to system setup or something like that but i dont get it.... if you tell me... can you explain all the steps to me? thank you!

Go back to the Wii menu. Get the second remote and open the battery case. You will see a red button. Go to the Wii and open SD Card case. You will also see a red button. Press the red button on the Wii first then click the red button on the Wii reomte. Once done, you should be able to use the second Wii remote on your Carnival Games and such other games.

You don't have to play like that, while playing the game, go to the multiplayer mode and then you'll see a sign. That sign has 5 wii motes on it. Press A on it to change it, once it's changed you get to use seperate wiimotes

you only use 1 remote. i know, it sucks, but i really dont like carnival games
