I attempted to make garlic bread (homemade) and lets just say it didn't work out. Now, my house smells like garlic, burnt, and it is horrible. I have a window and 2 doors open, which can't be open long. I have tried spraying air wick stuff. Nothing is working. So, how do I get the smell of garlic out of the house?

  1. I'm so sorry.  That has to be horrible.  My first thought when I read your question was of a Febreeze commercial.  They say something like "What's worse than the smell of fish?  The smell of fish *and* flowers."  Their idea being that normal air fresheners just mask the smell instead of getting rid of it.   Maybe you could try some febreeze air sanitizer, since it is supposed to remove smells from the air.  You could also try leaving some baking soda or charcoal bricks out in the kitchen where most of the smell is hoping that they will absorb some of the smell.  You could also try mixing one part vinegar with one part water and spraying that in the kitchen and even into the air.  The vinegar smell will leave after it evaporates, which should just be a few minutes, and maybe it will take some of the garlic smell with it.

  2. Spray it with an odor spray and keep candles burning that have a good odor to them (flavored candles).

  3. Cut up an onion.
