I have a really good golf glove that I like a lot. The glove has a bad smell of sweat on the inside and an almost dirty leather smell on the outside. I don't want to wash it so how can i get the smell out of it without ruining it? Thank you for your help.

  1. You can't, either block your nose or buy another one.

  2. I always thought that when the glove started to smell, it meant it was time for a new glove. They aren't that expensive, most are around $15, so just buy a new glove. You can always get the same kind. It'll be best in the long run because once the sweat evaporates within the glove, the natural fabrics/softness goes away thus diminishing the whole point of the glove. In the future, use a product called "Dry Hands" (sold at any golf store), it stops the sweat if you put it on regularly while playing.

  3. I don't think you can.  Golf gloves are really not designed to be washed or cleaned.  If it is really bad, maybe you could just mask the smell by spraying it lightly with perfume or deodorant.  But think about just using a new glove.  Hey as long as you keep making pars, the smell can't be that bad.

  4. My first suggestion is to buy a new glove.

If you must keep this glove, there may be a few things you can do to improve the odor without washing it:

    * Fabric softener - When not in use, stuff a couple sheets of a fabric softener inside the glove.

    * Leather detergent and/or fragrance - Check out these items [ http://www.preservation-solutions.com/pr... ] and [ http://www.preservation-solutions.com/pr... ] as examples of products that claim to clean or restore leather to its original condition or smell.

    * Saddle soap - Look into this and other products for horse owners, who deal with leather in a number of ways.

    Best of luck!

  5. Spray it with fabreeze then let it dry under the sun, but I suggest get a new one like the Bionic Golf Gloves it will last longer than the regular golf gloves.

  6. Golf gloves are meant to be consumables - they are supposed to be replaced every now and then, and it seems the time is up for yours. You could try turning it inside out and spraying it with Febreeze, but it may be too late to really get the smell gone completely

In future, to avoid the glove smelling, dont just chuck it in your bag at the end of a round and leave it there; turn it inside-out and hang it out on a washing line for a few hours
