  1. If one of your parents is a British Citizen than you qualify for British Citizenship automatically, even if you weren't born or have never been there before.

    You can also become a British Citizen by Naturalisation if you don't have ancestry in the UK, which requires a minimum of 5 years legal residence in the UK and other conditions.
