  1. EDIT: I see you're starting from Penn Station.  Are you, by any chance, coming from the LIRR?  If so, you can just take it to Woodside (without going all the way to Penn), and get the 7 train upstairs, right there at the Woodside station.  Just an idea.

    ORIGINAL POST:

    From Penn Station:

Either walk up 7th Avenue from 33rd to 42nd Street (about 10 minutes), OR take an uptown 1/2/3 subway (any of them, they all work) to 42nd Street.  When you get there, get on the 7 (that's the (7) local OR the <7> express, BOTH will work!).  Take it to Shea Stadium.  From Penn Station to 42nd Street, you can walk or take the 1/2/3.  The subway is probably faster, but it's not a ridiculously long walk anyway.  A good hike on a nice day.

Alternatively (like if the 7 is out of service in Manhattan or something), you can take a Queens-bound E train, to Roosevelt Avenue.  Go upstairs and transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 there.

Finally, if you're in a hurry, you can take the Long Island Rail Road, from Penn Station!  It costs a bit more, but you can get on the Port Washington Branch, because it makes stops at Shea ON GAME DAYS.  Normally, it does not stop at Shea.  On game days, though, starting about two hours before the game, the Port Washington trains begin to stop at Shea.  You'll be there inside of 20 minutes.

To get back, just do the opposite of what you did to get there.  The 7 (local or express) to Times Square for the 1/2/3, or the 7 to 74th Street (only the local stops there) for the E, or the Long Island Rail Road to Penn Station.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Take the 7 to Willets Point/Shea Stadium. Drops you right off outside of Shea.

Take the 2 or 3 from Penn Station to 42nd St. and catch the 7 there. (Either that or walk about 12 blocks from Penn Station to Times Square. Me? I'm taking the 2/3 and transferring.)

  3. take the 7 train form Penn station to shea stadium...its the stop right before Flusing...trust em i live in Flsuing

  4. the 7 train stops right outside of shea
