I know there are several places where you can see the Northern Lights, which places are best and how do you get there - where would you need to fly to/which airports are closest to the lights? Thanks!

  1. Go to Fairbanks, Alaska or Iceland.

  2. Well, north of the 45th doesn't garanty anything, I live north of the 60th (in Sweden) and I see the Northern Lights at max once a year, so you need to go really to the north.

  3. wow that would be amazing to see

  4. Fairbanks, Alaska is one of the best places to see them.  if you are in the united states you may be able to see them.  they have been seen as far south as virginia.  although you need to take a trip to alaska to really soke it in and get the full effect

  5. go to the morth pole or alaska

  6. Any place that's north and dark.  The further north, the better.  The darker, the better.  Look at a map, pick a dozen decent-sized cities north of you, and check with travelocity to get ticket prices.  If you don't like those, check another dozen cities.

You need to be fairly well north - like at least past the 45th parallel.  Further would be better, but you're running out of airports where you won't have to pay a ton to fly to.

If you're in the US, you could go into Canada, but then you run into hassles about passports, customs, etc.  Whether it's worth that is up to you.
