How do you get to the port of dover on a train?

I want to get from Manchester to the port of dover (uk), is there a direct train there, I looked on the gner website but there are a few stations, which is best and how far are they from the port.

  1. It is possible, the Rail planner found several journeys with 2 or 3 changes, to Dover Priory, from there you can take a local bus.

    Coming from the ferry there was a connecting bus, so I am pretty sure there is one the other way round too.

    Did not take long, I do not remember how long.

    Use the Advanced search options  and select not to use a station, all London stations.

    An other site that can help you find your public transport in the UK, although I did not find the avoid London option:

    This one can do bus, coach, train and even ferry.
