How do you get to the truth with your spouse?

She lied about a liaison. I want to find the whole truth so we can start to put the episode behind us but I just can't seem to believe her.

Just let it go man. Knowing every little detail will only make it worse. If you truly want to move forward and fix your relationship then move forward. Live each day at a time. Dont' look to the past and hope that some how knowing will fix things. It will not.

It is best left in the past IF you are truly wanting to put it behind you. Details won't help AT ALL. You can't handle that truth, nor should you need to.

If you were really wanting to forgive and forget, you wouldn't need every detail.  It doesn't sound like you are going to get past this. Trust is something that is so hard to restore.

Details! why bother with them. Trust me once you know it only adds to the problem. Because then you start to see her as a different person. Knowing she was a certain way with someone else.

You will have to find it within yourself to trust what she tells you will be the truth. A serious heart to heart needs to be done. If there is anything out there you haven't been truthful about, now is the time to come clean. Tell her that you want to believe what she says and that you want to move on and put this behind you, but you are feeling insecure and find it hard to believe her. If you need to involve a counselor, then maybe you should. I hope that you can find the answers you are looking for.

well you could get a man to tell the truth by holding a pair of hedge clippers to his pnuts... a women are devious though, if she can't tell you the whole truth (if you even want to hear it) then she won't until something slips out little by little, that's how i always catch my man in a lie... he can't keep up wth his web and all tells on himself!
