How do you get to work?

a mixture of cars, buses, walking, sometimes a cab.  It gets boring if you drive everyday.  And its amazing the kinds of people you meet when you take another form of transport then your own personal car.

Right now I drive alone but when I change jobs soon my husband and I will drive in together.  If gas continues to rise we are thinking about biking to work.  We're hoping that the bus route will be extending to our neighborhood to provide another option.

Simple answer, I drive my Jeep.

Complex answer;

I trip over the dog, fumble for a light switch, let the dog out and put food down for the dog, take a shower, run around the back yard in my boxers because the dog is trying to tunnel out to go chase the morning joggers, drag the dog in, get dressed, step out, step back in and get my keys off the desk, dodge the dog eagerly trying to go out again, walk to the garage, use the walk-through door and hit the button to open the garage door, then I start tripping on the accumulated crud on that side of the garage as I make my way to the Jeep because I forgot to replace the bulb in the garage door opener, (again,) spend a few minutes really irritating my neighbors because I accidentally hit the arm button on the alarm remote before opening the door while I was fumbling for my keys.

Then I back out, head to the convenience store, grab coffee and a doughnut, forget about the railroad tracks and spill coffee down my shirt, then take my usual route of industrial roads to avoid traffic. Stop for breakfast tacos, change my coffee stained shirt in the parking lot of the office, distribute the tacos, sit down with a cup of coffee and a pair of tacos and start the day.

i am at work now. heck i am here 24 hours a day seven day a week up to 3 weeks at a time. I am an over the road truck driver.
