Question:

How do you get use to using an insulin pump, it's becoming a nuisanceto me?

i use it and i still get lows and highs, so what good is it. i do not eat many carbs or sweets, so i am not understanding the use of this thing

  1. they are difficult to adjust to.  but remember when it is annoying you, it is also preventing the neuropathy and vascular damage that diabetics are prone to since they are the closest thing we have to mimic the body.   the long term benefits definitely outweigh the irritation that they cause.

OMG i used to be exactly the same (i hated the thing)...but i realise it is good because now it can help stablise my BSL's and help prevent all the 'lovely' problems alot of diabetics suffer from...and if you get lows and highs you need to talk to your doctor and change something...i Think you either dont have the right basal rate, you bolus to much or too little or you are doing more exercise.
