Does vibrato come naturally or do you have to work on it like develop it, etc, things like that, and if so, how? I know there are a million questions like this but my voice teacher has never given me a straight answer.

  1. Vibrato is definitely something that you can develop as you continue your singing.  Most singers will have their own style of vibrato that they have developed naturally, but if you are not happy with yours you can work on it.

I'd be very surprised if you had no vibrato at all on held notes, but the basic idea of it is bending the note slightly flat or sharp and back at a quick rate.  If it is something you want to learn just start slow bending the note up slightly at a quarter note pace...then keep increasing the speed until you obtain whatever amount of vibrato you are looking for!  My suggestion would be not to overdo it!  Too much vibrato is very distracting and can be worse than using none at all.

  2. My best friend has an amazing voice. She has a vibrato in her voice that she can adjust respective to the song.

It seems that the vibrato came natural to her, but developed with practice.

Although you do not have it at the moment, given time, you will see it develop.

  3. A slight natural vibrato is common, but I've heard it takes training to sing in "good" vibrato. There are tips for developing a rudimentary vibrato at become-a-singing-master.com/singing-vibr...
