Finalise the DVD in the camcorder, put it in your PC's DVD player (it MUST be tray loading) and rip it with DVDDecrypter.

I've been working on this problem myself , after I finalized my DVD in the camera, I downloaded handbrake (free) to convert those files to mpg4 and then I imported the files into studio 11 and then I edited the files and burned them to a new regular size DVD and then I was able to make copies for the family.
