How do you get wall paper paste out of carpet?

any ideas? I have a glob of partially dried partially wet wall paper paste in my carpet and don't know how to get it out. any suggestions would be appreciated.

it is water soluable, so get a very wet sponge (hot water) and soak it until it softens and you can get it up out of your carpet.
