  1. a warm bath always helps.

    :)

  2. My Mum played classical music to us while she was breastfeeding and apparently calmed us down and my sister and I slept like babies - LOL.

    ;-)

You might want to look into that.

Also, maybe you're feeding Ethan a tad too much and as a result, he's unable to rest himself?

No offence intended, just thought I'd share

  3. We co-sleep with our daughter and since we started that we haven't had any problems getting her to sleep.  I lay down with her and nurse her and she falls asleep with me and sleeps for 4-5 hours (she's 5 weeks old). We started off trying to get her to sleep in her own bed, but she wouldn't sleep for more than 2 hours a night, and it was really restless sleep when she did.  If you aren't horribly opposed to it, you might want to try co-sleeping - it may get you some more sleep too =)

  4. give him something to sleep with and see if that works

e.g. soft toy animal, blanket anything like that

  5. When my daughter was a baby, and I plan to do this when i have my baby.I fed her, washed her,up put her in pajamas sing to her and make it seen like its bed time.

  6. sing to him:]]

  7. Does your son suffer from colic or wind?  My son is 6 weeks old today n he used to b very unsettled after he has a feed.  The only way to get him off to sleep is to make sure that he has burped several times. In the beginning, as soon as I put him to lie down after a feed he used to constantly cry so I used to keep him upright most of the time to stop him from crying, but now he is starting to settle and burps alot easier, almost instantly after he feeds.  If ur little boy is on formula, make sure that it is the one especially made for newborns with reflux.  Hope this helps.  Cheers

  8. When my son was this age his nights and days were confused he wanted to be up all night and sleeping all day. We tried to get him to stay up longer during the day time and by the 4week mark he was sleeping straight through the night from about 10pm-8am. waking up once around 2am for a bottle. I'm sure your little guy will start sleeping better for you soon. Good Luck and Congrats!

  9. Hi,

Your baby is still very young at the moment but I think the most important thing to start with is to get your baby into a good sleep routine.  I had massive problems with getting my 4 month old son to sleep.  He would just lie awake and cry for hours, then when he finally went to sleep he would wake every hour or two hours through the night and cry again!  Talk about pulling our hair out .... we were absolutely desperate for sleep!

It was a baby sleep audio program recommended by a friend that finally saved us. We followed the advice and began by creating a baby sleep routine which included bathtime, dimming of the lights, putting James into his crib, final nappy change and then lullabies. We also made recommended changes to his naps during the day and used some of the other recommended techniques. Within two weeks he was sleeping through the night most nights with just the odd night where he would just wake once!

Definitely start by creating a good baby sleep routine though and you could find that solves most of your baby sleep problems.

    Good luck!

  10. If he is fussy after he eats you might want to switch formulas...it might be upsetting his tummy!

  11. He probably needs something he can associate sleep with, a toy or special blankie. Most babies want to be awake all night, so trick him a little. Try keeping the bedroom lamp on all night long so he thinks its day. We did this with our little one and by the next day, he was sleeping all night. Good night and good luck!

  12. Get a front carrier and wear him around...
