Whenever my boyfriend is talking or kissing me i can see that he needs to go to the dentist. We don't live together but he lives in a flat with his mates. I can tell he has cavities and i can see that sometimes they hurt him - there is one deep one i can see but he refuses to go to the dentist. I have tried everything. He even let me look in his mouth and i told him he hacavitieses but he wont go - it's making his breath smell :S

What can i do =]

  1. I had that problem with a boyfriend once. I told him he needed to go and refused to kiss him. Really his mouth was gross!

He still refused and I broke up. I can't stand poor hygiene. I can deal with ugly, but bad hygiene there is no excuse.

Tell him it grosses you out and you don't want to kiss him. He might go to the dentist then, but if he don't....

Bad hygiene (even if it is oral hygiene) is something that you can't fix in a dude. Grown people ought to know better.

Maybe he can not afford a dentist. Offer to help pay...if that don't work.

I'm not going to tell you to break it off, but honestly you will have to learn to deal with stinky mouth or break up.

  2. He can die from not dealing with cavities.

If he gets an abscess (which he likely will eventually if he doesn't go) the bacteria can spread to the brain and kill him.

  3. You have the power, its called PUZZY.

He'll go to the dentist if yours is any good and he wants to get back in it..

  4. Yuck! Tell him you won't kiss him (let alone anything else!) unless he gets his mouth cleaned up! He might be really scared to go. In that case, why not schedule an appointment for yourself, and have him go and watch so he knows what to expect.

  5. tell him you are taking him to mcdonalds then go to the dentist

  6. Perhaps make an appointment for yourself and ask him to go with you. For all we know he might have a fear of the dentist - not uncommon - and maybe he could overcome it by just going with you. If it is fear, offer to go with him and be there for him. If it isn't fear, perhaps it's an affordability issue and perhaps he's just embarrassed to tell you that.

I don't like the idea of breaking it off with him - that's just a little immature. Just do yourself the favor and hold back on the kisses...cause the cavities do have the ability to spread mouth to mouth as I understand it.

  7. alot of people are afraid to go to the dentist because of the pain that might be invovled with dental work. He might not want to admit it. maybe sedation dentistry would help him. Basically they'd give him medication to knock him out. You can also emphasis how awful it would be if be developed a tooth absess and ended up in the ER because of his teeth. Poor dental health has been link to other serious medical conditions too.

  8. do what my wife did smack his *** on the head get a good rip on his hair and drag his ***

  9. EMMA,

YOU SEEM TO BE A CARING CONCIENCIOUS PERSON,

JUST GIVE HIM AN ULTIMATUM;THE DENTIST TO HAVE THE TEETH FIXED OR A DIFFEENT GIRLFRIEND.

BE SERIOUS, AND IF HE CARES HE'LL DO THE RIGHT THING.
