  1. You need to contact each vendor/manufacturer and request their sponsor guideline or application.  Most have them on their websites.

I filled out their applications, sent them pictures of my car (which I both race and show). I provided them with a list of shows I have done (mostly national) and some local.  I also provided a list and pictures of the trophies I won both racing and showing.  I gave them a list of modifications I already had and what I was planning to add.  I gave them an outline of what my overall goals were with the car and where I was at that point.  All this was organized in a neat portfolio, similar to what models show to get modeling jobs.  Most sponsors will have you sign a contract stating that you will advertise their product at the various events you will attend.  You will also probably have to place their decal on your vehicle and hand out promotional materials at the events. You usually have to appear at larger venue shows and races, rather than small local ones.  Sponsors I have are Vortech Superchargers, Zex Nitrous, C&L Performance Intakes and Throttle bodies, Cooper Tires, Granatelli Perfomance suspension, K&N Filters, Cervinis Body Kits, Mobil 1 Synthetic Oils, J&L Audio, Clarion Audio, etc

  2. You have to be into something where your car will be seen(IE racing). Approach smaller companies and ask if they want to sponsor you. they may give you free or discounted parts or services or whatever at first to put their name on your car

  3. Used to have some paid advertising on my own car. You have to be someone who puts a few miles on the car to make it worth the companies while but here are a few companies

  4. Why not ask the person you know. because he obviously knows whereabouts in the area to go.
