How do you get your hamster to get in its ball mine is always afraid to get picked up and go in?

  1. lure it with food put like trracks of food leading inside the ball ... hahahah works for meh :p


  2. well you can leave the ball in his/her cage and eventually they will get curious and go in it ... if not then you have to tame them ... get them used to being picked up in other words ... stroke them gently make no loud noises around them or make them jump ... thats to start of with so it gets used to you then start cupping your hands around it and gently picking it up dont take it out of the cage yet incase it jumps keep it low then get higher and higher an eventually it should be calm enough for you to handle

    if none of this works ... use or treats it ALWAYS works ...

  3. I think the ball pinches their feet. I had a dwarf hamster I would put mine in and even though he would run in it, I think if they were actually at the bottom of the ball, it pinched their feet.  

  4. Some hamsters do not like the ball toy. You should NOT make a hamster go into the ball if they do not like it. Making them do something that scares them is not going to make them trust you.
