Question:

How do you get your kitten to stop crying?

I adopted two kittens about two months ago. They are both around 12wks old. One of them cries for every little thing. For instance, when he is alone in a room (with me in sight) he keeps crying until the other kitten goes in the room or i pick him up. Its not that he is craving attention because he gets PLENTY of that... any ideas why he keeps crying and how to get him to stop?

She ignores me and only lets me pet her when she's sleeping :|

  2. Aww I miss the little crying kittens so bad.  But now mine are all grown up and they cry when they want to eat lol.  But they should stop soon.  And Just try to give them TONS of attention they wont be kittens forever and i promise you will miss them being kittens

  3. He probably misses his mommy.

  4. Cat's arent supposed to cry. It is possessed. Drown it in holy water.

  5. Do not give it a sleeping pill or any kind of medication, that will kill your cat! (Just needed to say that, since someone else suggested it).

The kitten that cries is not the dominant one. He may be very needy, some cats are. So no matter how much attention you give him he will still want more.

Or, perhaps it is allergies (to the food or something else), maybe the food upsets his stomach, maybe he has some kind of colic or something like human babies have. Not sure that's possible for cats but that's why I said something like it.

To get him to stop...well, he has a companion. Maybe you need some kind of set time where you play with him? They should stop crying after they reach a year - although I certianly hope it's earlier than that, for your sake.

  6. Give it a sleeping pill

  7. what are you feeding him?  it might be possible that his food isnt agreeing with him, or maybe he is just one of those babies who demands attention all the time.  just like children they all have their own personalities.  if it is really worrisome, call and talk to a vet, maybe there is an underlying problem.  good luck

  8. Animals are very individual just as people are.  Sounds like one of the kitty cats is needier than the other.  I bet he'll grow out of it, just as kids do.

  9. sometimes kittens cry as a response to being scared. It's still getting used to it's environment. also it may be that you need to just ignore it for a while so that it knows that it needs to stop. if all else fails get a squirt bottle and spray it a little bit when it cries too much so it will know that what it's doing is not something that you like.

  10. you could try getting some stuffed animals for the kitten and you can put a radio or tv on so he can hear noise and a clock in his bed is supposed to help.
