  1. The most secure way is to set up a paypal account. It's free, and the buyer won't have any of your information. You COULD have them send you a check, but then they'll know your address.

  2. Note sure why you would start selling on Ebay anymore.  You MIGHT get your money using paypal because the buyer can easily reverse payment or file a paypal complain and paypal usually always sides with the buyer.  I have even shown the proof of delivery Paypal requires and they STILL sent the money back to the buyer.  You cannot ask for cash in the auction.  Ebay does not allow asking for non approved method of payments so PAYPAL is it.  You can do money orders too.

Ebay is moving toward fixed sales and with the new feedback and fee changes are forcing out many small sellers.

A month ago Ebay changed the feedback system so that small sellers who get non positive feedback can very quickly be limited/paypal suspended. Any ebay user must maintain a 95% feedback rating per month or their account is seller limited and paypal payments are frozen for 90 days. Thus if you sell a few auctions in a month and get 4 feedbacks and one is only a neutral then you account is frozen because your 'positive' rating is only 75%.

This system is suppose to protect buyers but what it really is doing is the opposite by forcing out small sellers. A large seller who gets 200 feedbacks a month still gets 10 negatives for s******g buyers and still be ok while the small seller as described who gets one neutral gets the shaft.

So, sell at your own risk and be prepared to loose money, get ripped off and to bend over backwards to try to get a positive feedback from your buyer. Also note that the change only allows the seller to give positive feedback to the buyer. The seller cannot give neg or neutrals anymore so if a buyer ripps you off you cannot give non positive feedback so they do not get limited as stated above.

So, sell at your own risk but beware you are in for a hard road.
