Question:

How do you get your volleyball spandex not to ride up?

I'm just about to go into try outs and my spandex shorts are worrying me. When I do squats, lunges, stand in a ready position, and then suddenly stand straight again, they tend to ride up in a very unattractive way and I get self concious and uncomfortable.

I need help!!

  1. get used to picking it

  2. It happens to everyone! It's fine.. I dont know if you've ever seen that movie "stick it" where the girls spray this thing under their uniforms so that it doesnt ride up.. that's what I would recomment. Telling you made me remember it! haha~ I think Im gonna go look for it too! but if anything, it's completly normal for them to ride up and give you wedgies. who cares though everyone gets them!!!!

  3. lol lol im in volleyball too there is no possible way to get it to stop just wear them around the house to get used to how it feels then it will feel normal good luck with tryouts lol

  4. I understand, and initially, you can be self concious and uncomfortable, but you pick at it, because, you know what? Everyone else has the same problem! We used to stand in a group all picking at our spandex wedgies! There's nothing to be embarassed about, people should understand, and if anyone gives you a look you just say, "those darn spandex wedgies!!!"

Now, when you say "...in a very unattractive way.." does this mean they reveal a little more than you wish people to see? If this is the case, maybe they are too short or too small. See about getting a new pair (different brand/size) and see if that changes things.

  5. thicker spandex dont ride as much.. someone said not skin tight.. spandex is sposed to be skin tight.,...

  6. thats a very good question

  7. you can't, sorry.  feel comfortable with picking a wedgie!!!!  everybody does it, unless you want a line down your butt.  make sure the shorts are the right size.  not SKIN tight, but not baggy or really loose.

  8. get different spandex.  adidas spandex don't have a seam in the butt so they tend not to ride up to much:)
