  1. promise yourself a reward (15 minute break, or something concrete, like ice cream) after each hour of "wprk" on the thing you dont want to do!

  2. Chunk it down! I have to sort out my son's room as he's now left home, and turn it into a girly bedroom! The thought of it makes me shudder but I have written down an action plan. I will tackle one small thing at a time and the rest of the time, don't let it eat away at me.

There are some great books on how not to procrastinate out there. There are some good nlp techniques too.....Paul McKenna suggests transferring enthusiasm for something you normally like doing to something you hate doing. It's brill! It's in Change Your Life in Seven Days I think.

  3. just do it, get it over with.

  4. I wish I could do that!  I suppose just grab yourself by the scruff and get on with it.  I find that trying to do my best at it, really hard, gives me some motivation to get through it.  Thinking of getting to the end and having done it well gives it a purpose.

  5. Do it as quick as I can so it will then be over.

  6. I put things that I dont want to do on my "get through list". I break the things down into sections of time or elements to complete of the task and then when I have got through each bit I cross it off I feel better each time about getting closer to the end. I feel  I have achieved something when Im getting closer then. Reward yourself with something nice at the end of the list and it wont be so bad.
