How do you give people value... what to say?

What are some examples of what to say to a person to give them value? Any good books on the subject? Thanks

There are thousands of things to say, but none so powerful as "I'm so glad I have you around." It's not soppy, it's not overly saccharine, and it's universal. You appreciate them and their value.

You can also try:

-- I love when you do that.

-- No one else can do that like you.

-- I was just telling [soandso] about you the other day, and how good you were at that. S/he said s/he agreed.

-- Can you teach me that? I probably won't pick up very fast, but you've got me interested.

We are like little countries, all vying for our niche and being special. Bless you.
