  1. Maybe  "Please bring your favorite dish, along with copies of the recipe so we can all share." or something like that

  2. We have a large family so we have the game where you are asked to bring a dish with you your intial for instants it could be I am asked to bring a dessert with J My husband a veggie with G ETC. it's kinda cool and I LOVE seeing what they come up with. It mixes things up or you can do a-h brings salads I-L brings a hot dish ETC

  3. Most people w/ class would offer to bring a dish, & then, say yes!!! That is really sweet of you having such a party....but when one asks what can they bring, tell them either appetizers, etc, you know what you need, of course, since you know the basic menu.......good luck & CONGRATS to the person trunring 90! That is ever so sweet of you!

Same boat---but if one offers these days to make something----accept it. They are the true friends.

  4. you could call it a covered dish dinner.

Or put on the invite, bring your favorite dish!

  5. I like the "covered dish dinner" idea, although it's possible for people to misunderstand that and think that dinner will be provided, and they aren't expected to bring anything.

How about if you say, "Please join us for my grandmother's 90th birthday- bring your favorite dish to share."

Good idea, by the way. : )

  6. Since I don't know what is wrong with saying Potluck, I am not sure what you are looking for. Potluck is exactly what you are having. You could say something like BACD  but then they'd have to guess you mean bring a covered dish

  7. You could say "Bring a dish to pass"

  8. how about "please bring a prepared dish to share"
