  1. I was home schooled up until 8th grade then I went to a public high school (I liked high school).

As long as you don't procrastinate and you have a schedule you can get a good education. If you have a question you can ask your parents later in the day.

I learned a lot by being home schooled I think I got a really good ground education there.

The only down side of being home schooled is that people are kinda prejudiced against them, they think that we are either stupid or really smart. I ignored it  :)  Hope it helped

  2. I am home schooled! And I have a site where home schoolers can do school on the computer! It is called Switched-On School house

P.s: I hope your parents agree to do home schooling for you!:)

  3. Purchase the Robinson Curriculum self-teaching method, read the Course of Study and then go for it!

  4. alright....im homeschooled at the School of Tomorrow Philippines. but their main "branch" is in the US. look up School of Tomorrow on the web. SOT is cool because they use A.C.E. curriculum. and you dont need teachers. self-studying is the basic rule with SOT/ACE. i think its gonna work for u. =)

  5. I'm in 8th grade too! I started homeschooling this year and I really like it.

There's a website k12.com where students can enroll. I'm not sure where exactly there, but  I'm in Washington state (wava.org) and it links to it. The curicculum is FREE and my textbooks are shipped to me (but I have to ship them back). Some things I do on the computer and some with the textbooks. It's perfect for studying by yourself.

However, next year the program considers it "virtual high school" and I know they have a similar program for high school but I haven't looked into it yet.

  6. Hi, I am a homeschooling mom to a 7 year old.  Like you, I wanted better for my son.  There are so many different programs out there, that really the sky is the limit.  You can do a simple search on google such as online high school, or online homeschool, and find a number of online academies.  I currently use Abeka DVD program, but I am switching to the Bob Jones Homesat program this sumer.  You have endless possibilities, one being you could do extra lessons and be done early.  Another possibility is that when you turn 16 you can also take College courses and have them count for High School and College credits.  You can also do a Google or Yahoo search for local homeschool groups in your area.   There are so many options out there, that if you really want to homeschool, there is a cirriculum for you.  Hope this helps

  7. You can find out your state's homeschooling laws here:

    http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp

If you like working independently, you could try a textbook or computer curriculum.  You can find a description and some popular programs here:

I would also suggest getting involved in a support group or other activities:

    Good luck!

  8. www.robinsoncurriculum.com

it is a wonderful self-teaching method of study that we have used for 10+ years.   You can read all about it on the website.

Many students use the Robinson Curriculum and do very well.

I'm sure that you would do well with it too!

The simplest steps are to master the basics:

Math, writing and reading --- do all three every day for a total of 4 to 6 hours (one lesson of math with 95% or better accuracy, minimum one page essay, and 2+ hours of reading with a focus on understanding vocabulary).

Never stop learning.  Learn how to study and keep on all through your life.
