How do you go about job shadowing someone?

For my (highschool) graduation project, I'm giving a presentation about having a career as a dietitian. I've done volunteer work in a hospital, and observed some of what goes on, but I'm going to need more than that for the project. So, how do I find a dietitian willing to let me shadow them? I don't really know any personally, so that's out of the question.

Your best bet will be to email and/or phone local dietitians in the area and simply ask if they don't mind if you shadow them.  Let them know your situation.

You could look up local dieticians at a directory such as http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada... and go from there.
