  1. Moving to Germany requires a work visa from the US and compliance with Germany. But you will have to renenw it, the only way to become a permanant resident is to marry someone from Germany or Western Europe. As far as what part it depends on two things what kind of work your seeking and what type of environment you want to live in. Bavaria is very laid back and casual, where as Berlin is very Big City hussel and bussel type atmosphere. Hope this helps and good luck.

  2. Marrry a German woman but becareful because they are absolutely nuts. You have been forewarned.

  3. Did you know that if you get a federal job on a US military post they will send you to Germany to work there for them? I live on post with my husband here in Bavaria and Ive talked to several people who have done that. If you look for federal jobs, do a search for Germany. If you get one here you can have a job set up and ready for you as well as work on getting citizenship. Its an easy way to determine if this is where you want to live permanantly. Good luck!

  4. Do it the way I did it...marry a German girl.  After a certain time period you can get your citizenship.

  5. First, I would not marry a German just to live in Germany. Unless you are really in love. Otherwise you are setting yourself up for a complicated exspensive mess. 'Been there, done that'. What do you do for a living? Do you work for an Intern'l firm that has offices in Germany? That is how I managed my work permit, which you can not get without the living permit - Catch 22. But, if you have the right kind of job that is needed it can be done.  Do you speak any German? Another way to get to Germany is to join the US Army or Airforce, and if you are lucky you get stationed in Germany. You then get of the service there. I can give you more info on that, or maybe someone who has done it more recently?
