  1. Mine, just one word with a good meaning. I named my pet Lucky.

  2. It takes a few days. You have to spend time with the new pet, and get to know its personality. That, combined with its appearance, will usually give you some ideas for names.

  3. I go on line and type in Bird or Cat names and they give you a list. My mom and siblings all decide on what kind of name with like and what sounds good. We make a list of the names we like and based on that we take a vote and we have a name.

  4. I give them a few days so I can get to know them. I usually pick something from Ireland because that is my heritage, but my cat picked his own name... After hiding out for a day he came out and decided to reach up onto the t.v. nd watch "Tarzan" the Disney movie... Then hissed at the "Scary" parts. So I named him Tarzan

  5. i look at the markings the pets have. (eg. all paws the same colour - socks; patch of different coloured fur over an eye - spot; fluffy fur - Fluffy; etc.). I also go by common names or famous animal names. (Parot - Polly; Dog [female] - Lassie; Cat - Fat Louis[Princesses Diary's Cat]; etc)

Also, I might wait awhile to see the pets personality. (eg. Always getting into trouble - Rascal)

  6. My 2 females, about 13 months old were named for my late parents, Sammi & Toni. My 6 month old male kitten, given to me by my boss at retirement, is Bearcat, because, before I ever saw him, my boss said he looked like a tiny black bear.

  7. If they're cute, then I name them after someone or something cute. I want a puppy, like a Maltese or a Bischon, I will name it Pancakes or Muffin. Something along those lines. Good luck. :)

  8. I usually search on the internet for pet names.  It's kind of a brainstorming process and then something will "just be right".  Good Luck!

  9. well there is a few ways you can go online and they can give you a gaint list and you can chose that way by clickling on a letter and names will apear or you can give your pet a name by its personality or looks i am geting a dog soon and i too am having trouble thinking of names
