How do I graph something like 5x+2, x < 0 on the TI-89 Titanium?

  1. Go to the equation entry screen and type in the first equation as if it were an equality, so y1 = 5x + 2.  Now hit F6 and change the style to either above or below, depending on whether the inequality is actually y &gt; 5x + 2 or y &lt; 5x + 2.  You can graph any inequality of the form y &gt; or y &lt; or y ≥ or y ≤.

    The second equation is a vertical line.  To graph this go to the home page and click &quot;catalog&quot; then lineVert followed by the x value.  So, if you want to graph the line x = 4 you type lineVert 4.  By the way, you need to go back to catalog and enter ClrDraw to remove the vertical line.
