How do you greet people?

In greeting each other, Englishmen shake hands; Frenchmen in exalted moments embrace and kiss on both cheeks; a polite Austrian salutes a lady's hand with his lips; and Polynesians press noses. Each of these different codes of manners seems reasonable to those who practice it, but to those who do not, it is looked upon with amusement or ridicule.

  1. i just wave my hand at people and say hi/hello(the name of the person)


  2. just say- good morning/ evening. hello. how do you do.  

  3. A handshake, a hug and kissing on both cheeks, is a practice among the women. The tradition is taught by our elders and we in turn teach it to our children.

  4. with people i know through association or not that well, ill give a slight bow and a smile and make light conversation (because i come from Japanese culture)

    but when im with friends ill just smile and wave and say 'hey'

    mm i love the french greeting, especially if im greeting a french man haha. i find germans kiss you on your cheek as well... -girlish giggle-

  7. im bi-racial so for me it depends on who im greeting

    my african side i have to kneel down( well only if the person im greeting is older and in my case it everyone)

    my german side i do like the french people kiss on both cheeks

  10. I am a tango dancer, and I give women who dance tango a two-cheek kiss as is traditional.  I know this may be common among Argentinians and Uruguayans, but also among French and Quebecois.
