How do you grip a snooker cue?

And also, how do u hit the balls really hard, with the snooker cue still in position? when i do it, it flies off and hits the top of the cue ball

Like Sal said just tight enough to control it

it is a cue not a hammer

Grip lightly.

Swing only from the elbow.

Make sure you're right arm is vertical or slightly back from vertical at the point of contact. Best checked in a mirror or by a team-mate.

The more power the shot needs,the longer the backswing.

The experts say lightly and with just enough grip to maintain control.

As you strike the cue ball try not to grip any harder which naturally you will try to do.
