How do you grow marijuana?

I don't recommend it.  Its a lot of stress to try and hide a well-lit marijuana plant for six months.  I did this back in college and don't think its a good idea.

The best type of light is ane HID lamp and they cost about $50 each.  One lamp would be good for two or three small plants.  This type of light is used because the spectrum of light that it emits is good for growing plants and doesn't waste a lot of energy.

The best approach is to germinate many seeds at once in a damp and folded paper towel.  Fold a paper towel about 4 times and get it wet but not so wet that water is dripping out when you hold it up.  Put about ten seeds in the middle of the folds and put it away for about ten days.  Keep it somewhere that it won't dry out such as a styrofoam cup or whatever.  When you take the seeds out the will have sprouted.  Probably only 5 or so will be ready to plant.

Get a couple of small pots and fill it with potting soil and put about three of the sprouts in each one.  Bury them about one inch under the soil surface and don't pack the soil very tightly on top.  Water the soil.  Within a few days you'll see a few leaves growing up.  Make sure they start getting sunlight and keep watering them.

When they get about 12 inches tall change the light cycle to 10 to 12 hours on continuously followed by twelve to 14 hours off continuously.  You can use an electric timer that you plug the light into to automate this.  This change to a twelve hour "day" for the plant will signal it to flower by simulating the changing season.  Keep the 12 hour light cycle until the buds are mature.  That will take about 5-6 months of total growing time.

Some plants will be female and others will be male.  Weed out the males.  Thats why you should plant about three in each pot.

Don't let them get very tall or it will become harder to provide good light on them.  As they get larger they will spread out and you'll have trouble getting artificial light on all the lower limbs.   If this happens its best to prune some limbs so the plant can put more energy into the limbs that get a lot of light.

well you grow it like you would any other plant you put the seeds in the ground and you grow it. it is actually a very strong plant but by growing it doesn't mean you will get good weed. to do this you will need to mess around with the soil and light to do this i would suggest either looking up onine for manuals or simply buying one at your local bookstore im sure you can find one in ca that sells books on it i did a quick search and found this sight: http://www.weedfarmer.com/cannabis/
