How do you grow taller?

I went to the doctors a few days ago for my physical. when she got to my height, she said i'm done growing. i couldn't believe it. i asked her why, she asked me 'when did you start getting your periods'?

i said i got it when i was 10 years old. then she told me i'm done growing then, maybe i might grow only 1 in. Please help me! i'm only 58 and a third inches the doctor told me.but i want to be about 5'6 ft. or 5'5 ft. or 5'4 ft.. what do i do? i'm already on a healthy diet and excercising reguarly and getting about 8 hours of sleep and drinking lots of water. what do i do? i'm only thirteen! im really worried about my height.

Since you are growing taller, both your muscles and bones are getting bigger and longer. Don't waste your money or your health on drugs, alcohol or cigarettes.

Undoubtedly, the quality, quantity, and type of food we eat affect our height, growth, and health. We cannot emphasize enough how important your food intake is in determining how much growth you can possibly obtain. The types of food you eat will either improve or decrease your growth potential.

If you eat a lot of peanut butter, your height will not necessarily stop. Neither does masturbation stop height.

Only thirteen? Dude, you are NOT done growing. I seriously doubt it. You're just in between growth spurts. And if you do grow up to be short... learn to accept yourself.

But I think you'll keep growing.

Well, I've been 5'3" since I was 13. I got my period in the 8th grade (when I was 13) and I'm 18 now and I haven't grown at all.

If your parents are tall, you might get taller, but if you have short parents then I wouldn't count on getting any taller than you are. Both of my parents are tall (my mom is 5'7" and my father is 6' something) but for some reason, I'm still pretty short. My sister is only 5'4" and her father was tall, too (we have different fathers).

I wouldn't stress over it, though. Short girls are cute. =) Just keep exercising; it's healthy! There is nothing wrong with being short.
