The management are well aware of how others dislike this individual. She talks too much, rarely finishes tasks assigned and is a bad stabber - how can I continue putting up with her. I do not want to change my job as I like it and most of the staff there.

  1. That would drive me insane! I absolutely cannot work with a bunch of noise going on... yeah, I'm one of those people.

Anyway, I am always nice to people like that despite my feelings.

If it gets really bad, I'll let her know as nicely as possible that it's distracting. I don't think there's any reason to be rude... just be honest. If it hurts her feelings, oh well. It sounds like she's not too worried about hurting others.

  2. Ignore them, or tell them, or just do your own work

sometimes people need to let off steam, other times this is done too much, which is it?

  3. The next time she does it cover your ears with your hands and yell; "Bla, bla, bla, bla." Works everytime.

  4. Just try to ignore her, and when she starts talking about someone just dont say one word just look at here or make her feel awkward, or say something like "Wow, your the meanest person I know". She'll get the hint. At least she will stop bothering you. Believe me women still do not like to be called mean its a trigger for most women.

  5. First inform her that her constant chatter is distracting you from your work.  Also tell her if she is not concerned about her productivity you are concerned about yours.  You might also imply that employees that don't perform and distract others from their work run the risk of being fired.

If your supervisor will permit I would get an earphone/CD player device.
