How do you handle an 8 year old daughter that has a crush on a neighbor boy, and writes love notes?

Its probably extremely innocent. I have a 6 yr old and an 8 year old and they come home from school talking about their boyfriends and girlfriends, but when you ask them If they have held hands or something really innocent they get all red and giggly. I wouldnt worry about it.

Ohhh, I don't know about being too young.  She is having her first case of puppy love, and if you let her puppy love go on its own course, it will probably end as fast as it started.  If you suspect that it isn't ending and you are afraid of it going any further than 'proper', have THE TALK with her.  be open, honest, and make it a sharing time, a mom/daughter-only time.  if you give her your trust and respect for her feelings, she will be just as free to tell you and ask you about more important things later on.  Enjoy the time together, and I envy her for having such a caring mom.

hey it's not so bad, at least you know she IS interested in boys!  she could be writing notes to girls...  it's just a crush it's perfectly normal don't make a big deal of it . tomorrow she will have a crush on someone else.

It is very young.  If the boy is in her age group he will be frighted to death.  I really think if is a phase and nothing more.  My impression is that TV is becoming more focused on s*x and the environment than healthy options for children.   The media owners restrict their own children from consuming the products its produces.  You, like many, are just a caught in a world with cesspools all around.  Teaching no morality tales; but, confined to s*x and world collapse via using plastic containers.   The religious group that has imposed this culture on "latch key kids" have destroyed life in your nation.

what she can do?? if the boy is also of same age.. just let them have some fun.

If boy is of 13 are more than that age, you have to worry..  for that age s*x is a new comer into his agenda, he may try s*x.
