How do you hang a pot rack from the ceiling?

i have a pot rack from ikea that i want to hang up. It hangs from 2 chains that secure into the ceiling with s***w eye hooks, I want to make sure it is hanging secure. I guess I need to find the beams , how do i do that? and make sure it is secure?

Either use a stud finder from a hardware store or lightly tap a hammer over the ceiling to fid hollow spots by the sound.It might help to use a block of wood to prevent dents in the wall under the hammer.You can also use a tape measure as beams are supposed to be 16 inches from beam to beam;not always though.Sometimes they will shorten or lengthen the distance to brace walls in the ceiling.

Get a stud finder from your local hardware store. It's just a magnet that reacts with the nails and bolts. The Eye-Screws need to be securely screwed into the beam.
