How do you harvest swiss chard?

If I pick individual leaves from the outside, will the plant continue producing leaves through the season?

Cut with sharp scissors.  Yes, chard like most greens will continue to produce leaves.  Chard will actually regrow from the root if you cut all the leaves off.
