im 21yrs old single, i want to know if you earn less than 10k a year do you have tax exemptions? thanks

  1. Your question is unclear.  "Exemptions" have nothing to do with income.  Are you asking the income ceiling below which you are "exempt" from paying income tax?


  2. If you are single and not a dependent, and your total income will be under $8950 and you had no tax liability last year, you can file your W-4 as exempt.

  3. If you are an adult and no once can claim you as a dependent, you would have to make LESS than $8950 to not owe any federal taxes.

    If you are a dependent, the amount drops to LESS than $5450.
